Diploma of Well Servicing Operations
The average course duration is 18 months.
What it entails:
This qualification reflects the role of individuals such as supervisors in well servicing operations. The tasks performed by the supervisor in well servicing involve a high level of autonomy and require the application of significant judgement in planning and determining the selection of equipment/roles/techniques for themselves and others. They are required to demonstrate the application of a broad range of technical, managerial, coordination and planning skills.
Diploma of Drilling Operations
The average course duration is 12 months.
What it entails:
This qualification reflects the role of individuals such as senior drillers, field supervisors or project managers. They perform tasks involving a broad range of varied activities most of which are complex and non-routine. They are responsible for the quantity and quality of the output of others and contribute to the development of technical solutions to non-routine problems.
Diploma of Building and Construction (Building)
The average course fee is 13,500 AUD/ year.
The average course duration is 18 months.
What it entails:
This qualification reflects the role of building professionals who apply knowledge of structural principles, risk and financial management, estimating, preparing and administering building and construction contracts, selecting contractors, overseeing the work and its quality and managing construction work. This knowledge can be transferred to mines.
Diploma of Electrical Engineering

What it entails:
This qualification provides competencies to develop, select, commission, maintain and diagnose faults/malfunctions on advanced electrical equipment and systems. It includes ERAC requirements for an ‘Electrician’s licence’.
Diploma of Engineering – Advanced Trade

The average course duration is 24 months.
What it entails:
This qualification covers the skills and knowledge required for employment as an Advanced Engineering Tradesperson – Level II within the metal, engineering, manufacturing and associated industries or at equivalent levels in other industries where Engineering Tradespersons work. The qualification has been specifically developed to meet the needs of apprentices in an Engineering Trade who choose to study at a higher level during their apprenticeship in the above trade or for people who are existing engineering tradespersons.
Diploma of Laboratory Technology

What it entails:
This qualification reflects the role of workers who apply a range of laboratory technologies to conduct scientific-technical tests in most industry sectors, utilising specialist technical knowledge. They conduct a wide range of routine and complex, specialised tests where atypical samples may be involved and the instrumentation used has a wide range of operating variables. Workers communicate sample requirements to other personnel and may liaise with suppliers to troubleshoot product non-conformance. They may also demonstrate methods to others and train team members to collect samples and conduct basic tests reliably.
Workers contribute to the modification of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and enterprise methods when necessary, they may also have a role in the planning of schedules and monitoring of resources in their work area. Work is carried out according to established procedures, often under the management of laboratory or quality managers, or scientific/medical professionals.
Diploma of Engineering – Technical

The average course duration is 12 months.
What it entails:
This course is designed for those wanting to work as an engineering technician, carrying out tasks such as engineering design and quality control/assurance monitoring. The course covers CAD, drafting, basic fluid power, basic mechanical design, production scheduling, cost estimating and non-destructive testing.
